Sync. your own personal contact info to address books of your friends

While generally you would use Open Contacts to store contact info of others, surely you can store your own personal contact info into Open Contacts. Obviously to keep basic privacy, you would not store bank account info, personal ID and family details. Basically, you just need to input phone numbers and email addresses etc. with which others could contact you.

To update the address books of your friends,

  1. Select your own name from the People List window
  2. Export to an XML file.
  3. Select recipients of Email, and create an Email item.
  4. Write a few words of reminder in the Email and attach the XML file, then send.
  5. After a friend of yours receive the XML file, (s)he could import the XML file, and your contact info will be added or updated.

While you might have thousands of contacts in your address book, you would probably want only a portion of them will have your personal contact info updated. It will be handy that you put them into a mailing list which is actually a category you defined, then you could easily pick up their Email addresses and send your XML file.
